“Aromatic, with star anise and graphite notes, this vinous version is soft and creamy in texture, featuring citrusy acidity that frames the flavors of wild cherry, dried thyme and fragrant smoke.  Distinctive.”

Champagne Extra Quality Brut NV

Pinot Noir, (33%), Pinot Meunier (33%) and Chardonnay (33%)

”There is plenty of petrol character present on the expressive nose though not so much as to dominate the soft citrus, yeast and green apple scents. The generous though not particularly fine mousse makes for a borderline foamy palate impression while the citrus-tinged acidity keeps the middle weight flavors crisp and clean on the moderately dry finish. This is one of those Champagnes where there is no particular characteristic that stands out yet it delivers solid quality anyway.”

Champagne Blanc de Blancs NV
“Pretty if notably restrained aromas combine whiffs of green apple, floral, yeast and plenty of citrus and in particular Meyer lemon. The crisp, intense and delineated flavors are shaped by a relatively fine if firm mousse while delivering quality depth and length on the nicely dry and ever-so-mildly austere finish. This is an understated and cool version of the genre that packs a punch in the best sense of the term. Note that this could be enjoyed now as there is really very good depth or aged for several years.”

” A light and lively Champagne, with accessible flavors of ripe apple, lemon pith and blanched almond and a tang of salinity on the finish”

Champagne ‘Cuvee Alexandrine’ Blanc de Blancs NV

Blend of three vintage declared years (2005, 2006 and 2008)

“A fruity wine, refreshing and crisp with just the right balance between acidity and citrus flavors and a youthful mineral texture. The wine is certainly crisp, although it is the fruitiness and the tangy character that comes through most strongly. ”

Champagne Brut Nature NV

Blend of 2008-2009 and 2010 vintages of Chardonnay. Zero Dosage

“Although this is certainly dry, it is not searingly so. That comes from the ripe Chardonnay and the delicious white fruits that are well integrated into the mineral texture. The wine is bright, crisp and ready to drink.”

Champagne Cuvee Monsieur Leonard 2006

2006 Brut – Monsieur Léonard: (100% chardonnay, disgorged May 2017). This possesses a really lovely nose that offers up plenty of yeast and petrol elements on the very pretty floral, citrus and apple aromas. There is a notably more refined mousse helping to shape the refined middle weight flavors that terminate in bone dry though not really austere finale. This is dry enough that it won’t be for those who enjoy round or lush Champagne yet I like the bracing acidity that is really quite refreshing. This is worth checking out for a wine that could be enjoyed now or drunk from time to time over the next decade. Good stuff here. 92/2018+. Allen Meadows, Issue 68. Oct 2017
